Winning first place in the Poetry Creation Competition is a great pride for Rusydi, an eighth-grade student at Ibnu Qoyyim. Since he was in seventh grade, Rusydi had asked his Indonesian language teacher several times about when he could participate in a poetry creation competition.
Finally, SMP Juara Bandung received an invitation from Rohis Al-Hikmah at SMKN 13 Bandung to take part in a series of religious competitions titled LAMPION.
Several competitions were held during this event, including MHQ (Memorization of the Qur’an), MTQ (Qur’an Recitation), Calligraphy, Poetry Creation, Islamic Quiz, Islamic Video, and Da’i.
Rusydi represented SMP Juara Bandung in the poetry creation competition. To prepare for this event, Rusydi practiced well in advance, starting from studying the theme to practicing writing poetry using new diction.
In fact, one day before the competition, Rusydi, accompanied by his teacher, practiced writing late into the night. Alhamdulillah, Rusydi’s efforts yielded results that matched his hard work.
Winning first place has motivated Rusydi even more to continue creating by writing poetry.
