Students from Juara School achieved remarkable success in the 2024 National Greenmech Competition held at Parahyangan Catholic University, Bandung on May 24-25, 2024.
This competition was organized by Rumah Edukasi, representing the World Greenmech Association in Indonesia, in collaboration with Parahyangan Catholic University Bandung and Tarumanagara University Jakarta. Hundreds of students from various regional schools across the country participated in this national robotics competition.
The competition, held in Indonesia since 2017, features four branches: Greenmech and R4M (Robot for Mission) for elementary to high school levels, and Greenmech Junior Science and Greenmech Junior Programmer for elementary school level.
GreenMech is a fun competition involving the creation of Rube Goldberg Machine mechanical structures that connect various mechanical and green energy functions through complex and creative operations to accomplish simple tasks.
This competition employs scientific principles that combine five aspects of learning and development known as STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) and is divided into three levels: Elementary School, Junior High School, and Senior High School.
A total of 140 teams from 117 institutions, including elementary, junior high, and senior high schools, participated in the 2024 National Greenmech Competition, covering the provinces of DKI Jakarta, Banten, West Java, Central Java, Yogyakarta, East Java, Jambi, South Sumatra, North Sumatra, and North Sulawesi.
In this competition, SMP Juara Bandung, through its student representatives, successfully won 3rd place in the Greenmech Basic category for the junior high school level.
